Elder Park, Adelaide
On Sunday 18th May at Elder Park (free car parking north of Adelaide Oval), join thousands of dog owners and lovers all over Adelaide in a very special walk along a scenic route around the River Torrens. Following the 2km or 5km walk it’s then time for an afternoon of great entertainment, doggy demonstrations, doggy washes, doggy games and a chance to win a year’s supply of dog food thanks to Hills Science Diet.
Last year over 5,000 people participated in Adelaide’s Million Paws Walk, raising $90,000 which helped to care for the thousands of animals the RSPCA receive at their Animal Shelter each year. And this year, the RSPCA hopes to break attendance records in the name of such a great cause.
And of course, what Million Paws Walk would be complete without exclusive 2008 Million Paws Walk merchandise? We’re talking men’s and ladies t-shirts, caps and bucket hats – there’s something for the entire family including dog coats and bandanas for your four legged friends!
Sure this is a great day for our four-legged friends to get out there and mix it up with some new and old breeds, but the RSPCA are hoping anyone with an appreciation of the services they offer and the vital role they play in animal welfare will come along and show their support.
And while it’s great that dogs and owners of all shapes and sizes can get together in the name of a good cause – don’t forget the leash!
